Pronoun Buttons

Michigan Hillel is known for its dedication to fostering a pluralistic and forward-thinking environment. The organization treasures and upholds its reputation for providing a space that is open, accepting, and celebrates diversity.

Driven by a personal commitment to social change, I embarked on designing a series of buttons for Michigan Hillel. Recognizing the potent ability of a small accessory to make a significant statement, I aimed to encapsulate the essence of safety, acceptance, and community in a compact and wearable format.

The resulting buttons were strategically distributed within the Hillel building, offering visitors and members a token of solidarity and a visible marker of the safe, accepting space that Michigan Hillel prides itself on. The project accomplished its goal of not simply representing an idea but actively facilitating a larger conversation about inclusivity within the community.

Designing these buttons was more than a project; it was a mission aligned with my passion for leveraging graphic design as a conduit for positive change. The success of this initiative served as a testament to the potent role visual design plays in conveying messages of hope, unity, and support—principles that I am proud to have promoted through my work.
