Broke & Bougie

Broke & Bougie was a lifestyle brand that speaks to the aspirational yet financially conscious individual. It boldly champions the message: luxury and frugality need not be mutually exclusive. Aligning with a mission to democratize elegance, I crafted a brand identity and user interface that reflect on enjoying life's finer pleasures without the hefty price tag.

The core idea behind the Broke & Bougie brand is that sophistication is an attitude, not a price point. This concept guided my design approach, as I sought to create an aura of luxury that resonates with users regardless of their economic capacity.

 

Taking a cue from the rich hues of a well-aged wine, I selected a deep red/burgundy palette as the brand’s principal color. This choice is not only emblematic of the superior quality associated with fine wines but also sets a tone of warmth and opulence that is inviting to the brand’s audience.

For the app, the primary objective was to deliver an intuitive and seamless user experience, mirroring the ease and accessibility of a bougie lifestyle on a budget. The interface design incorporates quick and clear tabs, allowing for straightforward navigation through the app’s features. Users can effortlessly connect with others, access curated content, and share tips within a community of like-minded individuals.

 

Designing for Broke & Bougie was an opportunity to challenge conventional wisdom about luxury and affordability. As a graphic designer, this project has been a rewarding demonstration of my ability to blend visual storytelling with practical design solutions, ultimately crafting a brand experience that empowers users to live lavishly on a lean budget.
